Our Main Areas
Fostering European Education and Training is the first charter of VAS, to improve and harmonize the European offer and to accredit qualified expertise. Partnerships and collaborations with Universities, UEMS, Scientific Societies and Organizations are promoted.
The UEMS European Diploma in Angiology/Vascular Medicine puts Angiology/Vascular Medicine on the same plain as other European Specialties. UEMS European Diploma represents the highest recognition of cultural value. At National level it depends on the different states even if it is held in ample account.
The aims of VAS research are to develop knowledge in the vascular area for the purpose to prevent, to develop the potential of diagnostics and treatment and to improve the quality of life of patients as individuals and as members of society.
There is no effective prevention and treatment without collaboration and a strong participation. Today there is no Equity for vascular disease and patients and families who suffer from them, due to the unbalanced organization of the Health Services existing in most countries.
VAS organises annual Academic Meetings, European Angiology Days, in collaboration with other Partners, Organizations, Universities and Societies. VAS also organises Scientific Sessions, Symposia, Educational Workshops etc during the Congresses of National, European, International Scientific Societies.
VAS has launched categories of Grants: the first Educational and the second International Honorary Awards
In this area you can find VAS Publications and apply to join the VAS Writing Committee
The VASYoung Committee will concentrate and make proposes the younger generation needs problems, etc. to prepare the future of VAS in supporting A/VM from all the point of view. The Committee has also the responsibility to attract new people to join VAS activities and to push VAS members to involve also a younger Doctor from their Unit/Department.
VAS promotes collaboration with other Organizations to join forces for commune aims, avoid overlapping and obtain deeper and more robust scientific, educational and social results. Several Scientific Societies and Universities are part of the VAS-International Consortium or signed Agreement for stable Collaboration or Partnership.
