General criteria for Nomination
- Motivation letter by the proposer, specifying: 1-Sub-area and Topic ; 2-Proposed Award (for the career or for a specific realized project; for the latter a description of the Project is needed)
- CV of the nominee
- Supporting Letters
Not preferred, but also accepted, auto-nomination, using the attached Declaration Form.
Awards on Three Topics
- Research (Basic, Translational, Clinical)

- Clinical & innovation merits
Topics are activated, depending on the available qualified nominations. Equal Merits are accepted.
Criteria for Basic, Translational, Clinical Research
Relevance & Significance
- The research addresses a pressing question or gap in vascular medicine.
- Potential to positively impact patient care, public health, or scientific understanding.
Originality & Innovation
- The study presents novel concepts, methods, or insights.
- Creative approach in hypothesis formulation or execution.
Scientific Impact & Quality of Evidence
- The research provides strong and credible evidence.
- Clear presentation of results with logical interpretation.
- Potential for publication in reputable scientific journals.
Ethical & Social Considerations
- Compliance with ethical guidelines, patient privacy, and respect for cultural sensitivities.
- Clear conflict-of-interest disclosures, with no undue commercial influence.

Scientific Committee-Criteria and role
- One Representative for Each Organization
- Selection of the finalists (1-3 for each of the Topics, depending on the number and quality of nominations)
- Reject attribution of the Awards, if none of the finalists is qualified.
Restricted Committee -Criteria and role
- Not representing single Organizations, but rather few (3-5) qualified experts on Vascular Medicine-
- Changing every 4 years. Reconduction possible
- VAS as Coordinating Organization has a guarantee 1 Member in Restricted Committee
- Final decision on the winners, voting between the names selected by the Scientific Committee
Honorary Awards and facilities for Winners
- The Awards are Honorary Awards
- Free registration for the VAS European Angiology Days (EADays) (organised via the web live), following the Award.
- Free registration for VAS Laboratory for Vascular Medicine-Yearly upgrading on European and International Projects (in presence) for the year following the Award.
- Free Registration also for another (selected by the Winner) Collaborating Organization Congress, when eligible.
- The winning project should be presented by the Winner both during the EADays Ceremony and eventually during the Congress of her/his specific sub-area or region (in agreement with specific Organization)
Dissemination by Collaborating Organizations
- The Award will be disseminated and mentioned in all the Organizations Newsletters and mentioned on their web sites, asking for nominations (common link). From May 2025
- The list (or logos joint image) of the Collaborating Organizations must be always reported.
- Winner/s will be announced during the European Angiology Days-International yearly Academic Conference, where a presentation will be made by the Winner/s.
- The collaborating Organizations can invite to give a presentation during their Congresses (depending on their specific interest of the Award winner topic)
- All the Organizations will mention on their Newsletter and web site the winners’ names and any relevant news.
Timeline
- Scientific Organizations’ adhesion completed in 2025
- Definition of criteria/modalities in early 2025
- Launch for nominations (from all the Organizations web/newsletters) May 2025
- Collection of Nominations until 20 September 2025
- Committees’ evaluation completed for the end of October. Final Decision early November (10 November)
- First Award end 2025 (22 European Angiology Days, 28-30 November 2025)
